This little summer…(Post XI)

This will be my last post about our summer in Chicago. We had such a good experience there and I absolutely loved it. I'm so grateful to have been able to spend time with Scott and Sandy. They took such good care of us and it definitely felt like home. :)

This last post is a bit more random. I have a lot of photos left over that I think are important parts of our awesome summer. :) Here's my last hurrah to Summer 2013. :)

Bri and I took several bike rides since Naperville has awesome trails.
It's so green and warm! I miss it!

I also learned how to mow the lawn!! It was quite exciting and it got
even more exciting when I learned how to use the riding mower.
Scott and Sandy were very brave and patient to let me do that…:)

Bri was training for his half marathon. I helped by riding my
bike behind him. :)

I can't leave out our experiences with Callie the Dog…
Her and Bri are definitely best friends.

But during the day it was me that she'd follow around. :)

We definitely got some pool time in. :)

Callie's life. Watching for squirrels and people and dogs.

Bri was assigned as the Deacon's quorum advisor.
I'm sure they loved him. :)

Callie and I, bonding over our mutual laziness…:)

Bri got pretty good at hiding to scare me. Sneaky, right?

Bri and Callie have a strange relationship...
This is a good example of mine and Callie's relationship…Hogging the bed, even when I'm trying to make it…:)
We miss Callie. :)

I miss this beautiful prairie path that we would run/bike on. Such a beautiful place. :)

Bri had to break in for some friends. I'm not sure where he learned such a skill…

We also went to the John Mayer concert.
We loved it!! He's so good. :)

We had a great spot. :)

Phillip Phillips opened the show. He was awesome! :)

It was a perfect night for a concert! :)

John Mayer! :)

I loved spending the summer with this cute boy. :)

Just a typical Sunday afternoon activity…:)

Another typical Sunday afternoon activity. :)

This is Callie's typical activity, everyday.

We had some interesting train rides
into the city…I liked looking for the graffiti.

I also liked to look for interesting buildings. There were a lot. :)

:)

We had a perfect summer in Chicago. It was sad to leave. But I'm glad that we have so many great memories. :)

This little summer…(Part X)

This post is about our awesome trip to Ohio! First, we went to Cedar Point, which has the craziest thrill rides that I've ever been on. We loved it! After that, we drove to Kirtland to see the temple and church sties that are there. Ohio is a beautiful place and I definitely wouldn't mind going back someday. Especially for those crazy thrill rides. :)

Our drive there was really nice. :) The views were beautiful.

This picture is from our first morning at Cedar Point.
We didn't know the craziness that we were about to experience…:)

Our view walking into the park. That tall one is Dragster...

This was right after our ride on Maverick.
We were not expecting it to be so crazy and awesome, but this was one of our favorite rides!

Dragster. The scariest ride I've ever been on in my life…
Yes, you do shoot straight up that 420 ft tower going 120mph.

Bri was so excited! And a little nervous…:)

Yes, it really goes straight up. Crazy...

We survived! And got soaked by a random rainstorm. It was all fun though. :)

Another crazy ride that we went on. :) So cool!
This is the beautiful Kirtland temple.
Such an interesting place to visit.
The history of it is amazing. :)

We also went to a few other church sites,
like Newell K. Whitney's store.
Joseph Smith and his family lived
here while they were in Kirtland.

These are the cute sister missionaries that toured us around. :)

It was a wonderful trip! :)
