Our little Eurotrip… London

After graduation, we had a free month until we headed to Arkansas for Bri's internship. One of the things we were able to do, was travel to Europe! :) We couldn't pass up the opportunity to go on such a crazy trip together and I'm so glad that we did. We went to London, Paris and Rome and spent about two and a half days in each city. It was perfect. :)

We started our trip in London, which I think was my favorite city. There is so much culture and history and I feel like we learned so much in such a short amount of time. Here are our many pictures from London. :)

We were so excited to go!! It really didn't feel real.
I wasn't excited about the long plane rides though…
Oh man, not my favorite...

Our first night there, we were battling jet lag,
so we took a walk around. This is Hyde Park.
It was beautiful. And huge!

We got pretty good a selfies. :)
Pictures are hard with only two people...

I loved all of the flowers around the park. So beautiful. :)

Another site on our walk,
the Wellington Arch by
 Buckingham Palace.

Buckingham Palace

We couldn't go into the gates,
but it was kind of fun to watch the guards.

Haha, this guy. :)

The fountain across from the palace.

On our first full day in London, we went to
Westminster Abbey. It was one of my favorite
places. It's so beautiful inside and out.

So excited to be there!!

Not sure if we were supposed
to take photos inside, but it's pretty right? :)

There are a lot of famous people
buried at Westminster Abbey. I've never been
to a place like that before.
It was definitely interesting.

I love architecture. :) So amazing.

Stained glass! :)

Gorgeous. :)

I love the details on the building.
This is above the front of the door.

I love this picture. Big Ben! :)

I love gothic architecture. :)

This is the parliament building.

Of course we got a selfie with Big Ben. :)

We went on a scenic boat cruise on the Thames.
It was awesome! :) And such a perfect day. :)

The London Eye. We didn't go on it,
which I feel good about. I don't think
I could have gotten on one of those cars...

If the lions are drinking, London is sinking…:)
Or something like that…:)

Along with the old, gothic architecture,
there are these awesome modern
apartments. :)

The Millennium Bridge.
I recognized it from Harry Potter. :)
It really does look like it's wobbling.

Such cool apartments!
If I could live anywhere…:)

This one too…So cool! :)

London Bridge! I thought it'd look a little different too.

The Tower of London and the White Tower.
A very old castle. The Beefeaters give the best tours.
(I'm not sure why they're called that. I don't think they know either.)
Silly...

This is the Tower Bridge. I thought the
London Bridge would look a little more like this...

Beautiful, huh? :)

We also went to the Churchill Museum.
We loved it! I wish we could have
spent more time there.

We had to take the buses since
there was a tube strike.
It was a bit crazy, but we got pretty
 good at public transportation. :)

Les Mis!! We went to Les Mis
and it was AMAZING! :)
AMAZING!! :)

So happy to be there. :)
This photo is from our second day.
We started out by going to
Trafalgar Square and the National Gallery. :)

It was definitely a busy place. :)

We loved this guy. :)

Bri especially. :) He might have stolen
the bagpipes if he got the chance…:)

View from Trafalgar Square. I love this photo. :)

Our second stop was the British museum. It was huge so we didn't get a chance to see everything, but it was definitely fun. :) We were able to see the Rosetta Stone…Kind of cool and random. :)

This is the view from the inside.
We were sitting here and almost fell asleep…
Dang jet lag…:)

Lots of statues! :)

We had lunch at Borough Market and got some amazing Pad Thai. Oh man…sooo delicious. I would fly all the way back to London, just for this stuff…:)

Shakespeare's Globe Theatre!

The Thames river. We walked along the river on our way to the Tate modern. Very surreal views of the city. :)

I made Bri go to the Tate Modern with me.
He's such a trooper. :)
(I think he secretly liked it anyway…)

The turbine hall inside the Tate Modern. :) So cool!!
So many of my favorite artists
have shown their work here! :)

Interactive art! :)

It was storming when we went back outside.
When in London, right? :)

The only place we could find with
free wi-fi and ice water!
We are quite spoiled in America…:)

Here are some photos of the city.
There were so many interesting,
eclectic buildings. I couldn't help myself! :)

Love this one. London sure is a busy place. :)

Harrods!

Beautiful cakes! I took this picture for Haylee…:)

I love these buildings!! :)

The posters in the Subways were art in themselves…
I love this layering of different images!
I felt very inspired for future artworks! :)

Yep. :)

Goodbye, London! We'll be back! On our way to Paris…:)
