This post has been a long time coming. I've been wanting to update the blog for a while now, but we've really had the craziest year so far.
I began my student teaching in January, first at an elementary school and then at a high school. It was a crazy experience, but I really learned so much from my students and the teachers that I worked with. It was good to confirm that teaching is what I love to do. :)
My last semester was a crazy blur, but I am so grateful for the opportunities I've been given throughout my schooling. I'm realizing now how much I'm going to miss it. Definitely not the homework…:) But the rest of it was amazing. :) I'm glad we don't have to say goodbye to Provo yet, we'll be back for one last Fall semester. It'll be a good one! :)

Elementary kids are so cute. And they love art! That made it easy to go to work everyday. :) |
We did this 'community' mural with the kindergarteners. They painted the paper and then collaged the buildings. It was definitely a crazy big project to try with kindergarten, but I love how it turned out. :) |
We also did these "personality pinch pots." As you can see, they turned out soo awesome! :) I love this one. |
This was one of my favorite projects. The 5th graders were learning about the Civil war, so we talked about the Underground railroad and "Quilt Code." They each had to come up with their own code and make a quilt square for a class quilt. They were so creative! |
I loved getting cute notes in elementary, because it definitely stopped when I got to high school, where it's not cool to draw pictures for your art teacher…;) |
This project was with an advanced drawing class. They had to create an artwork to respond to a prompt from one of the other students. I think her prompt was "things that make me cry." They all did such a good job. I was very impressed. We later posted them on twitter for a "twitter art show." |
"hell makes heaven beautiful" |
"darkest fears" |
"box of balloons" |
For the painting class we painted with oil on glass. Our exhibition was called "Preservation" and they all painted memories or things about their heritage. Very beautiful. I loved this project. |
This exhibition was called "Abstract Pen Drawings." It was very open except they had to draw abstractly with pen. I pushed the kids to do something outside of their comfort zone of realistic drawings with pencil and paper. I LOVED how these turned out. One kid even drew on glass! So awesome. :) |
She drew on canvas and tie dyed it. So cool. One of my favorites. |
A very talented student. He really worked hard on this piece. It's another one of my favorites. |
The semester was a bit of a blur with school and everything, but we were able to get some family pictures in with both sides. Our awesome, amazing Clark parents were called to be Mission Presidents of the Phillipines Angeles Mission. We are so proud of them and supportive of their service and responsibility. They will be SO amazing in their calling. :) We had to get some family pictures in before they left. The pictures turned out very nicely. :) |
Can you even tell we were freezing? :) |
We also did Armstrong family pictures! The first ones in forever! Well, except when we got married, but that doesn't count…:) |
Here are some other things that happened…Such as this flat tire. I wish I could say I changed it all by myself, but I have an awesome husband, so…:) |
There was SO much of this going on also…SO much… (It was not all in vain though, because Bri got his 3rd 4.0. Very well deserved. :)) |
The Law Library was our second home. Mostly because we didn't have internet at our real home…:) |
We also went to Bri's mission reunion. Very fun! :) |
Then this happened… I finally graduated! Bri and I were able to walk together, even though he will not officially graduate until December. He walked with me in the Visual Art ceremony and fit right in. :) |
Our awesome, supportive Clark family! :) Love them. :) |
Love him so much. :) I'm so glad we were able to have this experience together. :) |
I love my family. They have been HUGE in getting me to where I am today. I am very grateful for their love and support. I'm the first to graduate with a BA degree from both sides of my family. Pretty cool. :) |
My cute grandparents came to our ceremony. :) They have also been a huge support. :) |
I am so glad that Scott, Sandy, Mikale and Kai were able to come! We love them so much! I'm sure graduation isn't Kai's favorite place to be, but he's a trooper. :) |
Cute Isaac was baptized in May, so there were a lot of celebrations going on in the Clark family. :) We are very proud of his decision to be baptized and he has so much support and love in his life. :) We are a very blessed family! :) |
